Amira Virgil, known online as Xmiramira, is a trailblazing Twitch streamer, gaming content creator, and industry consultant who champions inclusivity and representation in gaming. She uses her platform to entertain, educate, and advocate for systemic change, ensuring that Black gamers and creators have the space and opportunities they deserve.

Frustrated by the lack of quality skintones for Black Sims and players, Amira created the Melanin Pack for The Sims 4, a game-changing mod that pushed the conversation on authentic representation in gaming. She also founded The Black Simmer, a thriving community where Black players and creators can share their work, build connections, and make culturally relevant content—free from the toxicity of online racism.

Beyond content creation, Amira is a recognized industry voice. In 2021, she launched The Noir Network to combat the pay disparities affecting Black content creators, specifically Black women. Through this initiative, she works to level the playing field, ensuring that Black creators receive the recognition and compensation they deserve.

Her impact has led to collaborations with Electronic Arts, Dove, Amazon, Miller Lite, Savage X Fenty, Google, and more, bridging the gap between gaming culture and mainstream media. She also consults with gaming publishers, helping them develop more diverse and authentic storytelling in their games.

Amira’s influence extends into academia and the arts. She has spoken at colleges, inspiring students and future creators with her journey, expertise, and advocacy for change. Her work has even been recognized by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), a testament to her cultural impact and contributions to gaming.

With a blend of storytelling, humor, and activism, Amira continues to break barriers, empower Black creators, and push for a more inclusive gaming industry.
